KAS Tanzania happy with beneficiaries of its programs

DIRECTOR of  Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS Tanzania) in Tanzania, Dr Feltes Tilmann has said Tanzanians  who have  benefitted  from alumn and scholarships programs of the organisation  stand a better chance to give their testimonials.

“You are good ambassadors of our programs and  we (KAS) that you share the knowlesge and skills for the betterment of your country,” Dr Tilmann said at the Dinners for KAS Scholars and Alumni Program Beneficiries held in Dar ea Salaam recently.

He said his Organisation introduced the programs over 20 years ago,many Tanzanians including others holding key positions in public and private sectors whose impacts contribute significantly in socio-economic growth and development of the country.

In Tanzania, KAS started its operation in 1960s and Kivukoni college, now days The Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy was the first partner to cooperate with. The main focus of KAS in Tanzania lies on promoting good governance processes, peace and conflict resolution, digitalization, women and  youth empowerment, networking, social market economy, promoting professionalism and innovation as well as promoting interfaith dialogue.

He said  KAS Tanzania  has been Promoting intellectuals and innovation ideas through education, KAS Tanzania has been supporting government initiatives to fight the three main enemies, one being ignorance.

” It has been granting scholarship to eligible Tanzanian men and women for over 20 years who were and are given opportunity to study and gain both practical and theoretical experience from different universities. Up to 2021, more than 20 Tanzanian have benefited already from the program,”Dr Tilmann explained.

 Earlier, Senior Lecturers from Open University Of Tanzania Dr. Jacob Lisakafu and Dr. Philibert Komu from The University of Dar es Salaam commended the occasion calling for Scholars and Alumni Program beneficieries to forge links and communicate regularly and give sucess stories of the programs.

 Former government Chief Spokesman and Director of Informatin Services, Mr. Assah Mwambene who is currently  a Senior Official in Ministry of Foreign Affairs  and Advocate Jonathan Mndeme attended the event as among the beneficieries.

During the discussion, Dr.Tilmann said is office  was proud to what scholars has been doing to their country  Tanzania and tha their efforts and contributions were really appreciated.

Speaking at the same occasion,Mr Mwambene explained how he got scholarship with KAS 20 years ago and his experience working with KAS in media and gender based violence in different regions.

 Ms Maria Kayombo who is Alumn studies a Masters of Humanitarian Action and Development Cooperation  at Open University in word of thanks said the existence of this scholarship program in Tanzania is very important and should not be stopped rather to widen its scope to more Tanzanian. Also engage them more in country program Currently apart from other public and government relation work she has been engaging too, she is also working as a consultant for same organization KAS in the project the peace and conflict resolution set up and coordination in Zanzibar
